The Athletic Company is honored to continue our partnership with Junior Achievement of the Permian Basin to bring Midland its largest and most festive 5K—the Jingle Bell Run.
This family-friendly event features a chip-timed 5K and a Santa’s Elves 1.5K, welcoming runners, walkers, strollers, first-timers, and seasoned athletes. It’s the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season with family and friends, moving together under the holiday lights.

SAFETY & FAMILY NOTES
🔦 Lights Required: Because this is a nighttime event, all participants must wear some type of light for safety—this can be the 5K light vest, a headlamp, clip-on running lights, or another visible light source.
👶 Stroller-Friendly: Strollers are welcome! We recommend stroller families start toward the middle or back of the pack for everyone’s safety.
🚶 Walkers Welcome: This is truly an event for all paces—walk, jog, or run and enjoy the lights and music.
🌧 Rain or Shine: The Jingle Bell Run will still take place if it rains, unless conditions are unsafe. Plan to show up ready for a little extra adventure!
👥 Teams & Groups: Yes, you can run with your team! When you register on RunSignUp, you’ll see the option to create or join a team—perfect for schools, offices, gyms, church groups, and neighborhoods.
🅿️ Parking: Parking is encouraged in the areas surrounding Scharbauer Elementary. Arrive a bit early to park, pick up packets, and get to the start line without rushing.
