Join The Athletic Company for the Fresh 5K Community Run, a free summer activation created to bring the Permian Basin together through movement, community, and local goods.

What began as the Fresh 5K race is now becoming a free community run experience designed for all ages, all paces, and all fitness levels.

No chip timing. No pressure. Just movement, community, and a fresh start to summer.

This is our summer gift to the Permian Basin — an invitation to be active, get outdoors, enjoy local goods, and kick off the season the right way.

About the Fresh 5K

The Fresh 5K is a free community run held in conjunction with the Parks Legado Farmers Market. This event is designed to invite runners, walkers, families, kids, and community members to begin summer with movement, connection, and local goodness.

The run will begin near the main entrance of The Athletic Company retail store at Parks Legado Town Center and will finish just in time for participants to walk into the Parks Legado Farmers Market as it opens at 8:00 AM.

Whether you are chasing a personal goal, walking with your family, bringing your dog, or simply showing up to move with the community, you are welcome here.

The Fresh 5K is free to attend.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance so we can better plan for attendance, communication, and giveaway quantities.

Because this is a community run, there will be no chip timing. The emphasis is on participation, movement, and celebrating the beginning of summer together.

7:15 AM — Fresh 5K begins

By starting at 7:15 AM, participants can finish and begin walking into the market right as the morning comes alive.

Course Information

The Fresh 5K Community Run will begin near The Athletic Company at Parks Legado and take participants through the surrounding East Odessa area.

The course is designed to be simple, community-friendly, and accessible for a wide range of participants.

This is not a chip-timed race, but participants are welcome to run, jog, walk, or move at their own pace.

Parks Legado Farmers Market

The Parks Legado Farmers Market first began in 2017 with a vision to create a vibrant local hub where farmers, bakers, artisans, makers, and shoppers in West Texas could connect directly.

More than just a marketplace, it is a celebration of local agriculture, handmade goods, specialty foods, and community life. The market serves as a welcoming place for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and enjoy the best of local commerce and community spirit.

Each season, the market welcomes 200+ vendors, offering the Odessa community and surrounding areas a chance to enjoy local goods, delicious food, live music, and meaningful connection.
